Dear Ms. Herron,

I was shocked to read your front page article entitled,
"Miamiville residents protest at parade."
I am a member of the Miamiville Civic Association who
participated in that parade with my nine year old daughter.
I think the headline is misleading, as the article isn't really
about the organization, but about one member who happened to be
wearing a toilet seat around his neck.

It was obvious to me that the article was written by someone who
received information secondhand. Indeed, I confirmed that Molly
Williamson wrote the article only after receiving two letters from
Commissioner Scott Croswell.

I had never met the man wearing the toilet seat before the parade,
nor was I aware that he strayed from our group. I do not think his
actions fairly represent the Miamiville Civic Association or the
group of dedicated and hardworking individuals who took the time on
a Sunday afternoon to participate in the parade.

Ironically, in this same article Commissioner Bob Proud is quoted as
saying, "emphatically that we have no predetermined decision of where
the plant will be located." Yet, on the opposite page (A4) in a
separate column written by the Clermont County Commissioners,
your headline says "Existing wastewater treatment plant to be expanded."
Well, now isn't that the point?
Isn't that what all of the fuss is about in the first place?

best regards,
Karin Weyer
