Susan, Thank you very much for the information. I have scheduled a meeting with some officers of Miamiville Civic, and Clermont County officials. They plan to re-submit the application for the same location. They will afford us the opportunity to discuss alternate locations. We are aware of a study they commissioned in 1996 that indicated another location as the best location from a gravitational and engineering standpoint. However, the county is telling us that OEPA did not like that location because the tributary into which the plant would discharge it too narrow to support the flow. Do you have any information about that 1996 Harza study and the EPA's response to it. We are very disturbed if this is the basis on which the original location was scrapped in favor of our neighborhood, as the tributary into which the proposed Wards Corner plant would flow is often a dry creek bed, but is also badly eroded due to too much current capacity from recent development. I need your help on this issue, and time is of the essence. Can you direct me to the best way to obtain the information we need? Thank you for the information. Marie A. Ron Ware, permit reviewer in Southwest District Office's Division of Surface Water recently notified Clermont County Water & Sewer District that their application for a proposed new wastewater treatment facility required more information; specifically, he requested a more defined discharge location, a construction schedule and additional alternative analyses. Clermont County's permit has not been denied. Ohio EPA reviewed the application and we have some concerns that may or may not affect our ability to proceed. We are discussing these issues with the County. Whatever happens with the application in hand, the County is free to reapply in the future and any consideration of a new application would be independent of the order in which it was received or who got there before Clermont County. Further, as the County has expressed a clear interest in having this 2.0 million gallons per day (MGD) facility, we will be taking that interest (and potential stream loading) into consideration as we evaluate any other applications whose discharges would be interactive with the Clermont County discharge. Also, keep an eye on your postal mailboxes; soon I will send a copy of Ohio EPA's letter to Clermont County, as well as a copy of the responsiveness summary that addresses your questions raised at the August 14 hearing and through the comment period. I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any other questions, please contact me at susan.aman@epa.state.oh.us or at 614.644.2160. Please feel free to forward this information to any not on this e-list. Sincerely, Susan Aman Public Information Officer Public Interest Center Ohio EPA P.O.
