Beautification Update

The Miamiville Civic Association in concert with Tim Pennington, Director of Community Relations, has worked to have signs erected indicating one's entrance to Miamiville. These colorful signs have been erected on SR126, from the west by the Kelley Nature Preserve (on the south side of SR126) and from the south approach to Miamiville, on the east side of SR126. A lot of people had input into these signs, but I would like to particularly thank Mark Hardin for his work and efforts with Tim Pennington to make this project a reality.

Sewage Plant Update

The Miamiville Civic Association continues to try to work with the Clermont County Commissioners, through our attorney, to develop the most efficient, safe, and aesthetically pleasing sewage plant possible. MCA has provided current water quality data, current technology solutions, provisions for storm water treatment, and provided pictures of these alternatives to the Commissioners' design after visiting other sewage plants where these improvements have been made. Additionally, MCA continues to challenge the authority of the Ohio EPA to authorize this additional discharge until a Total Maximum Daily Load study has been performed. MCA is in the process of an appeal to ERAC, an environmental hearing board.

Who We Are
The Miamiville Civic Association was re-organized in 2003 with the primary purpose of preserving and improving the quality of life in Miamiville and the surrounding areas. We are more than 150 families strong and growing rapidly. We include residents, local and state political representatives, and citizens from all walks of life and professions who are interested in making this a better place to live and recreate.

Our Vision
We know that rapid development has reached this area, like so many others. More people have discovered the beauty of the area, the recreational amenities, and the proximity to downtown and the highways. We know that the Village of Miamiville has the opportunity to grow with elegance and grace into a beautiful community, or could just as easily be swallowed up by the progress and disappear! Our goal at Miamiville Civic Association is to work with local governments and property owners to develop this corner of Miami Township in a manner that will enhance and complement the history and natural beauty that it has to offer. We envision a downtown with restored older homes, enhanced landscape, shops and dining, even a gaslight area.

Current Issues
Currently before us is an issue that is the biggest threat to the existence of the village and the surrounding area. Clermont County is pursuing a plan to install a regional sewage treatment plant, or Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP), at the bottom of Wards Corner Road on Loveland-Miamiville Road. This would tie in to the existing package plant that at this same location on Loveland-Miamiville Road. If this is installed it will destroy property values, quality of life, and the area will become blighted. The permit request is currently before Ohio EPA and a decision on the first application will be rendered in first quarter of 2004. Please see the WWTP tab of this web site to obtain more information on how you can stop this project.
