WWTP FAQ
1. On April 28, 2003, the Clermont County Commissioners submitted an Application For Discharge
(NPDES) to Ron Ware of the Ohio EPA. The point of discharge is near the intersection of Wards Corner
and Loveland Miamiville Roads in Miamiville, OH.
2. Ohio EPA held a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2003 to accept comments on
an application from the Clermont County Board of Commissioners for a new wastewater collection and
treatment system on Ward's Corner Road (Miami Township). The hearing took place at the Clermont
County Board of Commissioners, 101 East Main St., Batavia.
3. This is not a small package plant like the one currently located in the same area. This will
be a 2.2 Million gallon per day full treatment plant. The solid waste will be treated and dried on
site creating foul odors.
4. The area to be served by the WWTP is 10,200 acres or 15.937 square miles. The 2005
projected population is 16,500. The estimate population for 2040 is 30,050.
30,050 times 65 Gallons Per Day average water usage per capita equals 1,953,250 GPD. This is how
Clermont County decided on a 2.2 Million Gallons per Day WWTP.
5. The size of Miamiville is about 1.5 square miles. The proposed WWTP will service an
area about ten times the size of Miamiville.
6. Current sewer tap fee is $1,995.00 for residential. Including trenching and plumbing,
the typical cost to tie into the sewer line will be about $15,000 per household.
7. The Miamiville Civic Association is recommending Horner's Run as the location for the
discharge point and the WWTP. Horner's Run is located one mile South East of Miamiville
on the Little Miami River near Camp Dennison.
